Like PetSafe to Donate a Toy!

If you haven't already, head over to PetSafe's Facebook page and like them - for every new like they get between now and the end of the year, they'll donate a toy to a shelter dog!  Being in a shelter can be a scary, lonely, and boring time for a dog, so this is a great, free way for you to help make an adoptable dog feel more comfortable!

Wanna Adopt Some Awesome Dogs? Chiweenies Available in Boulder!

If you've followed this blog for any amount of time, you must know how much we love our "chiweenies"  (chihuahua / dachshund mixes), Henry & Sally.  If you live near Boulder and want the chiweenie experience yourself, there are TWO totally adorable chiweenie puppies available for adoption at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley (where we got both of our pups!).  To the left is Hot Dog, a 2 month old female.  Tell me you can look at that picture without getting overwhelmed by cuteness!

Hot Dog also has a sister named Hubba Hubba, looking for a new home, too!  Stop by the Humane Society as soon as you can to adopt these cuties!

Free Wellness Exam & Rabies Vaccine in Denver!

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley (where Henry and Sally were adopted!) and 9News are teaming up for "9 Pet Check" next month to provide anyone unable to pay for vital health care for their pet a free exam and rabies vaccine!

Big Beaver Brewing Co.'s 2nd Annual Running of the Wieners

Big Beaver Brewing in Loveland, CO, has just announced their second annual "Running of the Wieners" for May 25th!  If you're in our area, be sure to check it out, or bring your own wiener dogs to compete (wiener mixes are allowed, though Henry and Sally will warn you that there's some good-natured ribbing about cheating with their longer Chihuahua legs)!

Adopt a Dachshund!

We normally don't do this, but this guy is just too cute not to go unnoticed!  As you know, we are HUGE fans of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and there is this just adorable long-haired dachshund looking for a new home.  You may know that both Henry and Sally are HSBV alumni, and Henry was also a 'senior' dog when we got him, so we have a special place for older toy breeds, especially doxie mixes!  If you're in the area, won't you consider giving Mackey a home?

Henry, Sally, and I were at PetSmart today (doing their favorite thing - getting their nails clipped!) and as we were checking out, the cashier let us know about this great gift!

You can pick up either this cute plush dog, named "Chance", or a cat (named "Lucky"), for just a $5 donation to PetSmart charities!  We frequently add a few bucks to our bill whenever we shop, so this was a great way to continue giving a small amount AND get a cute toy for the holiday season!
